Boshoed day is on the 26th August
This day in 1966 – 51 years ago, was the recognised start of the South African Border War, which lasted 23 years, 6 months, 3 weeks and 2 days.
Please remember the 2,280 members of the SADF that gave their lives in service of their country during this period. Of these 776 were killed in action.
Wear something SADF related on the day.
Can be anything from your boshoed, beret, SAMVOINT badge, Balkie, etc.
Take a selfie and share/post photos on either Facebook or email to SAMVOZA to share on the SAMVOZA/SAMVOINT website.
Create awareness of our veterans and especially to honour those who made the supreme sacrifice.
Lest we Forget
With the ever increasing number of ‘informal’ so-called Veterans bodies, comes the risk of opportunistic chancers seeking to benefit by taking unscrupulous and illegal advantage of Veterans.
The below two gents have also tried and lost.
Please be warned and advise others to only deal with legitimate CMVO aligned bodies.
SOUTH AFRICA – March 28, 2016 – South African Military Veterans Organisation of South Africa (SAMVOZA) is proud to announce the launch of their new website, located at www.samvoza.org. This was a big project for the Southern California based, design-build specialty contractor. The new site, designed and developed by Charmaine Porter, features information on veteran affairs, membership application, and SAMVOZA Veteran Kit order form.
“We are so pleased with the SAMVOZA new website,” said Charmaine, Website Coordinator for the SAMVOINT Organisation. “The Functionality of the site makes www.samvoza.com a dynamic resource for both vistors and veterans. There has been an overwhelming amount of positive feedback, proving that hard work and tight communication does pay off.”
The Home page of the site opens with a rotating slideshow, which includes information and images from the South African Defence units and remembrance images. Users have the ability to access SAMVOZA Member Kit Orders, Latest News and Affiliations, as well as an opportunity to join SAMVOZA as a member.
“Our goal was to design a user-friendly site and make it as seamless as possible to navigate,” said Charmaine Porter.
